Kilifi-Safaricom Digital Talks

Safaricom PLC and the Kilifi County Government came together to discuss digital transformation at a roundtable meeting held at the Silver Palm Hotel. The main objective of the meeting was to explore innovative ways of enhancing service delivery in Kilifi County by digitizing various operations.
Safaricom presented a range of proposals to assist Kilifi County in its digitalization efforts. The finance department will adopt digital revenue collection methods to streamline processes, while the water department will use smart water meters to improve accuracy and reduce non-revenue water. The county will also use fleet management software to keep track of assets, including vehicles. Additionally, Safaricom Cloud will provide cybersecurity and storage solutions for county data.
Representatives from Kilifi County, including Chief Officers and Directors from various departments, expressed their excitement and commitment to implementing the proposed initiatives. Attendees included Chief Officer ICT Madam Lerine Kitema, Chief Officer Trade Madam Lynne Farrah, Chief Officer Education Mr. Fredrick Nguma, Chief Officer Roads and Transport Mr. Phillip Charo, Chief Officer Public Works Mr. Samuel Mkutano, Chief Officer Special Programs & Disaster Management Madam Irene Nekesa, Chief Officer Public Service and Disaster Management Mr. Eliud Kalama, Director for ICT Mr. Moses Karema, and other officials.
