As part of the #KilifiCountyMashinani initiative, the CEC Public Works, Roads and Transport Hon. Catherine Kenga and her team; Chief Officer, Special programs and Disaster Management – Irene Opicho, Ag. Director Roads -Elvis Dulu, Sabaki Ward Administrator – Musa Abdalla accompanied by MCA Sabaki Ward Hon. Rose Baraka visited Sabaki in Magarini Sub-County to initiate several infrastructure projects.
The team handed over several road projects to contractors, including Chocolate bar to Sabaki Primary road, Kwa Patrick road, Kwa Ndomo – Milalani road, Moi Quarry road and Maboromokoni ECDE road. Hon. Kenga also emphasized the importance of hiring local youth in the construction of these roads to support the community.
The team also listened to the grievances of the current workers on the sites, ensuring their concerns were addressed, and provided support where needed. Additionally, they visited a cess point along Moi Quarry road, where they identified the challenges faced by the officers and encouraged them to collect revenue from trucks using PayBill.
